WHAT IS BAPTISM?

BY IMMERSION

Baptism is an outward sign of the spiritual reality of New Birth. It symbolizes the believers death to sin in the act of being totally immersed within the waters, and the believers new life found in Christ in the act of rising from the waters.

THE APOSTLE PAUL SAYS THIS:

"Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life."

Romans 6:3-4

IS IT NECESSARY?

Baptism is not necessary for Salvation in Christ, nor does the act of baptism cleanse us from sin; Faith alone in the finished work of Jesus brings us Salvation. (Ephesians 2:8)

Though not necessary, it is a beautiful picture of our identifying with Christ as our Lord and Savior.
